Job summary

American Electric Power in Tulsa, OK is offering a designer internship based in Tulsa, onsite five days a week. The role focuses on CAD drafting and updating 3D inventory parts, assemblies, and AutoCAD Electrical drawings.

You will build a foundation for your career through hands-on drawing creation, revision, and documentation tasks. Essential duties include using Autodesk products (AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault) and Microsoft Office to support engineering records, learn drafting

Qualifications

Completed at least one year toward an AAS in drafting/CAD or related engineering technology.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Graduation date December 2027 or later.
GPA 3.0 or higher.
Familiar with conventional drafting symbols and colors.

Responsibilities

Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings and sketches.
Support creation and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents and records.
Obtain information from multiple sources including sketches, site visits and catalogs.
Perform mathematical calculations required to accomplish work.
Proficiency in CAD software; Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
