Job summary

American Electric Power in Tulsa, OK is offering a designer internship focused on CAD drafting to create and update 3D inventory parts, assemblies, and drawings, as well as 2D AutoCAD Electrical drawings. You will build a foundation for your engineering career, working onsite five days a week.

You will use Autodesk products—AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault—and gain proficiency in Microsoft Office while interpreting vendor prints and field information.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an associate degree or equivalent in CAD/engineering technology.
• Minimum age 18 and graduation in 2027 or later.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings; and sketches.
• Support documentation for facilities and equipment; construction, equipment, property records.
• Obtain information from verbal input, sketches, drawings, listings, field notes and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations for assigned work.
• Proficient in CAD software; Autodesk products including AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
