Job summary

Aerotek in Poway, CA is hiring Assembly Technicians to build cables for aircraft and ground control stations. You will follow wiring methods, install components, solder, harness cables, and label assemblies per drawings.

This contract-to-hire role offers a steady onsite schedule with shifts from 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with potential overtime. Eligible candidates will have experience in cable assembly, soldering, reading blueprints, and using basic hand tools.

Qualifications

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for building various cables used in aircraft and ground control stations. Your role involves determining and following methods and sequences of operations in assembly tasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units. You will follow and comprehend assembly drawings or written work instructions, crimp terminals/contacts onto wires using manual and automated tooling, and label assemblies according to drawing specifications. The role requires performing tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly using basic hand tools. Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with control procedures is also part of your responsibilities. You are expected to observe all laws, regulations, and obligations and maintain a safe working environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is calm, quiet, and organized with each assembler having their own workstation. All necessary tools are provided at the workstation. The dress code requires long pants, no loose clothing, clean and appropriate attire, and closed-toe shoes. Employees work on a 9/80 schedule with shifts from 5 AM to 2:30 PM or 3 PM to 12:30 AM, with additional hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Headphones and visible phones are not permitted.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $27.26/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
