Job summary

Giga Energy in the United States is seeking a seasoned BIM Modeler, Electrical, to own the federated model for the electrical scope including substations, switchgear, cable tray, and busway. You will coordinate with design disciplines to maintain one federated model from concept through fabrication.

You’ll work in an in-office culture with onsite expectations in major hubs, while exceptional talent outside hubs may be considered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional BIM modeling experience coordinating federated multi-discipline models.
• Expert-level Revit including family creation and templates.
• Navisworks clash detection with test matrices and issue resolution.
• Experience with electrical power infrastructure (substations, switchgear, transformers).
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEEE/ANSI C57, UL 891, and NEMA standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain federated Revit and Navisworks models for electrical scope — MV/HV substations, padmount transformers, switchgear, UL 891 switchboard lineups, cable tray, busway, conduit, and raceway
• Model to the level of development each project stage requires, from concept (LOD 200/300) through fabrication-ready (LOD 400) shop release
• Reconcile MCAD equipment geometry (Inventor / SolidWorks / STEP) into usable Revit families and IFC content
• Run scheduled Navisworks clash tests against a documented test matrix, triage issues by root cause, and track every clash to closure with evidence
• Publish clash and coordination reports on a fixed cadence and participate in coordination review meetings
• Build and enforce BIM standards — templates, worksets, shared parameters, naming conventions, and view templates
• Build and maintain the parametric family library for Giga’s recurring equipment, including transformers, switchboards, breakers, skids, and enclosures
• Generate coordination drawings, general arrangements, and model-derived quantity takeoffs to support procurement and estimating
• Maintain model health — purging, auditing, worksharing hygiene, and file size discipline as projects scale
