Job summary

Layton Construction in Layton, UT is seeking an MEP Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily on-site operations, scheduling, procurement, and direct labor supervision on a commercial project.

You will coordinate with the Project Manager, monitor progress against look-ahead schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and adherence to specifications. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and construction experience, with CMiC familiarity considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field and at least 2 years commercial construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Has a valid driver's license and is able to travel to and from the project site.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands building codes.

Responsibilities

• Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures that safety, honesty, unity and quality of work are emphasized on site.
• Plans procedures based on specs, staffing, and schedules for each phase of construction.
• Collaborates with the Project Manager to determine project schedule and uses look ahead schedules.
• Coordinates pre-construction meetings and procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Inspects progress and manages costs against reports and budgets.
