Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an MEP Superintendent to oversee daily site operations, scheduling, production, and materials procurement on a major project in Utah. You will supervise direct labor and contracted work to ensure on-time completion, while coordinating with the Project Manager and subcontractors to maintain progress and safety.

The role requires a engineering/construction degree and at least 5 years in commercial construction, preferably with hospitals/medical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction. (5+ years commercial construction experience)
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to site
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred
• Project experience with hospitals/medical facilities $10M+
• Good subcontractor management and cost control

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures based on specs and staffing needs for each phase
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules with Project Manager
• Coordinate pre-construction meeting with the PM
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules
• Inform all parties of construction issues and progress
• Resolve grievances with supervisory personnel
• Resolve construction problems with engineers and inspectors
• Inspect work to ensure conformance with specs and schedules
• Move personnel between projects to balance labor costs
• Prepare Project Management Plan with PM
• Ensure safety, quality standards and housekeeping
• Perform other related duties as assigned
