Job description

About the Position

As an assistant project manager at Power Design, you’ll work directly with senior managers to oversee all business aspects of a project, from labor management to budget management. You’ll work at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, and will be paired with an experienced mentor for an accelerated career path to electrical project manager and onto senior management roles. The assistant project manager is someone who is highly motivated and competent, excellent at communication and organization, and able to learn on the fly.

Responsibilities
  • With direct supervision and support from the project manager, manage the business side of a large-scale construction project.
  • Collaborate with senior team members, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, inventory, material, and project correspondence.
  • Regularly visit assigned projects, interacting with customers and other trades while representing the organization in the field.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers (general contractor and developer), engineers, inspectors, and vendors.
  • Receive hands-on training from a mentor and through our state-of-the-art training facility and utilize cutting-edge technology in the office and when visiting the field.
Qualifications
  • College graduate with a construction-related degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience or an individual with 5+ years of relevant construction experience.
  • Detail-oriented professional with exceptional problem-solving skills who loves new challenges and has a drive for results.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
