Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc in North Carolina is seeking an Electrical Apprentice 2 to shadow a journeyman, read blueprints, diagnose electrical problems, and assist with wiring installations on commercial construction sites.

You will learn to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring and control systems in line with plans and codes, while building hands-on skills and a strong safety mindset on every project.

Qualifications

• 2001-4000 hours (1-2 years) of electrician experience and basic knowledge of the electrical craft.
• Must have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction and bring necessary tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
• Learn to use hand and power tools to assist electrician in performing duties, including measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit; drill holes for wiring; pull wiring through openings; assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects.
• Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order; disassemble, repair and reassemble defective electrical equipment, such as motors.
• Load, transport, unload, and furnish electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Help install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications; perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft worker.
• Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested and engage with your work team to achieve zero injuries.
