Black & Veatch is seeking an electrician helper trainee to shadow journeymen and learn essential tasks on the job site. You will read blueprints, diagnose basic electrical issues, and assist with installing and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with plans and codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include 2001-4000 hours (1-2 years) of experience as an electrician and basic knowledge of electrical work.
• If applicable, must have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction; must be at least 18 years old.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding, which may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
• Learn to use hand and power tools to assist in wiring, conduit installation, and equipment handling.
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Maintain tools and equipment; help prepare and lay out materials and assist in plan execution.
• Participate in safety programs and report hazards; observe and correct risks as needed.
