Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Apprentice 2 to shadow electricians, read blueprints, diagnose issues, and assist in installing and repairing electrical systems. You will support journeymen in planning, wiring layouts, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and codes.

Ideal candidates will gain hands-on experience, follow safety protocols, and participate in on-the-job training within a craft environment, contributing to safe, quality outcomes on projects.

Qualifications

NCCER Construction Craft Laborer credential preferred.
NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent Craft Training Program preferred.
Experience and willingness to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
Learn to use hand and power tools for wiring tasks and support electrical work.
Perform minor repairs like replacing fuses, sockets, bulbs, and switches.
Maintain tools and materials, and keep the work area organized and safe.
Load and transport materials to the worksite and assist with wiring layout and installation.
Participate in safety programs and report hazards to ensure zero injuries.
Support planning, layout, and coordination with other crafts on the job.
Contribute to on-the-job training and mentoring opportunities.
