Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc is seeking an Electrical Apprentice 3, Solar in Brewster, FL. You will shadow an electrician, learn to read blueprints, diagnose electrical problems, and assist with installing new electrical systems under a journeyman's guidance.

You will participate in planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of wiring and control systems in accordance with plans, codes, and standards, with safety as a priority on a typical construction site.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience working as an electrician and basic knowledge of electrical wiring, conduit, systems, fixtures.
• Familiar with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records.

Responsibilities

• Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
• Learn to use hand and power tools to assist the electrician in measuring, cutting, bending wire and conduit; drill holes for wiring; pull wiring.
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order; disassemble, repair and reassemble defective electrical equipment.

Education

2-3 years electrical experience

Knowledge of NEC

18+ years old

NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent Craft Training Program
