Job summary

Quest Global in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned control design engineer to translate complex electrical concepts into accurate CAD drawings and BOMs. You will maintain standards, resolve discrepancies, and support calculations and visualizations for Fortune 500 projects.

The role is on-site in Houston with NFPA 70 and UL 508A compliance focus. 5–8 years of experience and proficiency in COSMOS/NX are required, with a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years experience in control design.
• Proficient in 2D electrical and control system drafting (schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts).
• Proficient in 3D electrical and control system modeling (equipment arrangement, cable routing, panel/enclosure integration).
• Strong understanding of electrical power, control, and signal wiring practices.
• Ability to read P&IDs and correlate with electrical documentation.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and UL 508A standards.

What You Will Do

• Support the project team by creating suitable visualizations of solutions.

What You Will Bring

• 5 to 8 years experience in control design
• Proficient in 2D electrical and control system drafting (schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts)
• Proficient in 3D electrical and control system modeling (equipment arrangement, cable routing, panel/enclosure integration)
• Strong understanding of electrical power, control, and signal wiring practices
• Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Ability to correlate P&IDs with electrical, instrumentation, and control system documentation
• Understanding of instrumentation, field devices, and control system interfaces
• Familiarity with electrical drafting standards, symbols, and drawing conventions
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
• Familiarity with UL 508A (Standard for Industrial Control Panels
• Software Command: COSMOS and NX

Pay Range:

$73000 to $87000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Houston, TX.

• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
