SouthEastern Illinois Electric Cooperative (SEIEC) seeks an Engineering Technician to assist in designing and staking electric lines, procuring right of way, and performing load calculations for new and existing services. The role includes communicating with members and advising on service connections.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field, with MS Office, ESRI GIS, and AutoCAD proficiency, and a valid driver’s license. Utility experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Professional experience in the utility industry is a plus
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Experience with Esri GIS and AutoCAD is desirable
• Ability to plan project schedules with deadlines and apply critical thinking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
