Job summary

Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) is seeking a Field Services Technician to support design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of electric distribution facilities. The role requires field engineering, staking, and coordination with multiple departments and external stakeholders.

The technician will collect field data using GPS, prepare construction packages, and perform right-of-way investigations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Experience in electric utility distribution design, staking, construction or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Ability to interpret maps, drawings, staking sheets and technical information; proficient with computers and mobile tech.

Responsibilities

• Performs field engineering to develop line extensions and distribution projects.
• Designs and stakes overhead and underground projects for residential and commercial work.
• Collects field data, prepares staking sheets, construction packages, and related documentation.
• Conducts right-of-way investigations, easement research, and permits with stakeholders.
• Performs system inspections and coordinates with GIS and other departments to fix inconsistencies.
• Communicates design and construction requirements professionally to members and contractors.
• Maintains safety and compliance with OSHA and all applicable standards.
