Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must have, or be able to obtain, NERC Certification within 1 year.
  • High school graduate or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic economics and costing procedures.
  • Ability to sign and abide by confidentiality agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in a fast-paced learning program including formal training, on-the-job training, site visits, and self-study.
  • Learn responses to system conditions to maintain BES reliability and economic efficiency.
  • Monitor and adjust system voltages and frequency; issue reports to MISO, NERC, and DOE.
  • Write, issue, and direct switching orders for emergency and normal operations.
  • Maintain a daily weather, load, and tie-line control data log.
  • Participate in emergency response activities for electric and water systems.
