Job summary

Entergy is seeking a System Operations Specialist to develop, implement, and administer the NERC Certification training program for Transmission Control Center operators.

You will plan annual training, coordinate with Operations Management, and ensure operator qualifications meet PER-005 and NERC standards, with active participation in NERC/SERC/MISO committees as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related work experience.
• 10+ years system operations or transmission operations or 5 years with BS.
• NERC System Operator Certification may be obtained after hiring.
• Safety sensitive position with mandatory drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer training to TCC Operators according to the Systematic Approach to Training.
• Work with Operations Management to develop annual training plans.
• Collaborate with Line Management on projects impacting operator responsibilities and tasks.
• Administer operator qualifications and adjust tasks while ensuring PER-005 compliance.
• Participate in NERC, SERC and MISO committees focused on training.

Job Summary/Purpose

The System Operations Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the NERC Certification training program for Transmission Control Center (TCC) operating personnel.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and administer training to TCC Operators in accordance with the organization’s Systematic Approach to Training.
• Work with Operations Management to develop annual training plans.
• Work with Line Management on projects that impact operator responsibility, tasks and tools used by the training department and the operators.
• Administer operator qualifications and modify tasks as needed while ensuring PER-005 compliance.
• Participate in NERC, SERC and MISO committees that are focused on training.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum education required of the position: High school degree or equivalent or related work experience.
• Minimum experience required of the position: 10+ years system operations or transmission operations experience or 5 years experience with BS or equivalent degree.
• Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position: NERC System Operator Certification (may be obtained after hiring).
• This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.
