Job summary

SpaceX is hiring an Electric Propulsion Engineer (avionics focus) to join a collaborative engineering team designing, building, and testing high-volume propulsion avionics for flight-qualified spacecraft.

You will own end-to-end propulsion power-processing and control electronics, collaborating with firmware, software, mechanical, thermal, and production-test teams to support qualification tests for flight readiness in a demanding, on-site environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, physics, or related engineering field.
  • 1+ years of experience designing, testing, and analyzing power electronics or spacecraft avionics.
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, test, and provide operational support for high-volume propulsion avionics used to drive thrusters and related hardware.
  • Lead or contribute to electrical architecture, circuit-board design, debugging, and verification.
  • Develop, qualify, and test propulsion electronics including requirements generation and verification for flight readiness.
  • Collaborate with firmware/software, mechanical, thermal, and production-test teams.
  • Analyze ground-test/flight data using numerical tools and write scripts as needed to inform designs.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and component redesigns to improve reliability and production rates.
