Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach seeks a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to design and test custom circuit boards for Electra, our electric propulsion system. You will own hardware designs and work with software engineers, propulsion engineers, and GNC teams to advance spacecraft electronics from requirements through flight.

You will perform analyses, bring-up, lab testing, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware.
• Experience with analog and power circuit design and PCB layouts.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own spacecraft circuit boards for electric propulsion systems.
• Analyze avionics devices and perform trade studies and simulations.
• Own hardware from requirements to flight qualification and bring-up.
• Define hardware interfaces and verification approaches.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, and test teams.
• Conduct hardware testing in the lab and in full-system setups.
• Lead design reviews, trade studies, and root-cause investigations.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive product improvements across lifecycles.
