Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain advanced electrical systems for Starship programs. The role involves developing analog/digital circuits, power electronics, and high-reliability avionics components for extreme environments and flight hardware.

You will collaborate across teams (EEE, EMI, radiation, propulsion, structures, GNC) and contribute to production automation and site-wide power infrastructure at Starbase, TX.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in electrical/related engineering anticipated in 2027.
  • 1+ years of electrical experience with power systems, automation, or board/sensor design.
  • Experience with power systems analysis tools and industrial networking concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, operate, and maintain electrical systems.
  • Develop analog and digital circuits for extreme environments; design power converters and high-integrity layouts; support hardware through production and flight.
  • Rapidly develop high-reliability avionics components; drive trades, requirements, prototyping, bring-up, testing, and flight support.
  • Participate in conceptual development of automated equipment for Starship production.
  • Troubleshoot issues hands-on; support technicians; ensure safe operation of systems.
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain microgrids for Starbase, TX.
  • Create and maintain power budgets, monitoring, and metering for mission-critical assets.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA and IEEE standards, prioritizing safety and engineering excellence.
  • Develop protective relay settings and schemes for high-voltage equipment.
