Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is hiring an Electric Propulsion Engineer (Mechanical) to join a team delivering flight-qualified propulsion hardware for Starshield mission support.

You will design, analyze, test, and own propulsion systems through production, collaborating with manufacturing and test facilities, and guiding decisions with data. On-site role with potential travel and emphasis on reliability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, physics, or other engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience designing, testing, and analyzing electric propulsion systems or related spacecraft propulsion hardware.
• Experience delivering high-reliability or safety-critical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, test, and provide operational support for propulsion hardware.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to enable high-rate production.
• Develop and execute qualification test plans for flight readiness (vibration, thermal, life cycle).
