MidAmerican Energy Company in Knoxville, IA is seeking an Electric Service Technician/Utility Operator to install and maintain electric distribution and transmission systems. The role involves working with overhead and underground facilities, and operating equipment to restore service.

The candidate will read meters, locate underground utilities, and supervise and train other crew members as needed. A CDL Class A and CIP certification are required, with safety-focused, hands-on field work.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A license is required.
• CIP certification is required.
• Pipeline/Hwy Alcohol & Drug Testing compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Installs, changes, transfers, moves and removes poles, line hardware, transformers, and electrical components for distribution and transmission systems.
• Installs, uses and removes protective equipment on energized circuits and works with hot line tools.
• Performs steel tower work including erection, removal and repairs of towers and related equipment.
• Operates switches and cutouts in transmission and distribution circuits and patrols for inspection.
• Locates underground gas and electric facilities when performing work, including in areas with no Locator/Leak Surveyors.
• Contacts property owners on tree trimming matters and performs minor trimming as needed.
• Leads, trains and instructs employees in switching and related duties.
• Installs and changes meters of various classes and conducts diagnostics in substations to restore service.
