Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a Line Mechanic (may accept apprentice) to install and maintain electric distribution and transmission systems in Adel, IA. The role covers overhead, underground facilities, and related utilities, including gas pipe work, under supervision.

The candidate will perform duties across electric service fields, read meters, operate switches, and engage in field safety, reporting, and basic line work with teams as required.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains electric distribution and transmission systems, including overhead and underground facilities.
• Reads meters and operates substation equipment to restore service and diagnose faults.
• Drives truck and manages tooling and materials for field operations.
• Locates underground facilities and coordinates tree trimming and safety around energized lines.
