Job summary

Kapur & Associates in Milwaukee seeks a talented Designer to provide electric and gas design services for residential, commercial, and industrial clients within the We Energies territory. You will create detailed service designs and small distribution plans using MicroStation, supporting the rollout of gas and electric services with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; civil, mechanical, or electrical background preferred.
• Experience with gas and electric design is a plus.
• Proficient with MicroStation and design principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use MicroStation to design gas and electric systems for various properties.
• Collaborate with builders to define project requirements and communicate design specs.
• Document and share project updates weekly with internal teams.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners to ensure project flow.
• Create site plans, determine meter locations, and evaluate routes per We Energies guidelines.
• Meet with We Energy customers on-site to determine equipment locations.
• Prepare quantity lists and cost estimates for gas and electric installations.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Assess loads to size services and meters correctly.
• Research and propose improvements to design processes and tools.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
