Actalent is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician to support the safe operation of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Based out of the Dayton/Kettering, OH area, the role focuses on field inspections, data collection, and documentation of low voltage equipment.

Outdoor work and physical activity are common, with opportunities to advance in utility field services. The position follows a four 10-hour workday schedule, with potential five days when needed, and is

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct detailed visual inspections of outdoor electrical distribution equipment.
• Ability to collect, record, and organize field data for reports and work orders.
• Comfort with using laptops, tablets, GPS devices and other electronic tools in the field.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Dayton-area office daily to receive assignments and prepare for field work.
• Conduct visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution equipment.
• Compile accurate field data and prepare minor work orders from inspection findings.
• Maintain detailed and organized reports of distribution equipment and measurements.
• Measure and map Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) systems for design and planning.
• Identify and record equipment on poles including hardware and components.
• Perform system inventories and audits of electrical distribution assets.
• Support joint use management activities including documenting third-party attachments.
• Assist with permitting-related field work by gathering site data and verifying conditions.
• Perform pad-mount inspections to assess condition and accessibility.
