Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Designers I/II in Spring, TX, to design and support electric power distribution systems for grid hardening and reliability. You will work on make-ready activities and collaborate with engineers from concept through implementation, using Katapult, PoleForeman, and GDT where applicable.

The role is office-based, full-time, 40 hours weekly, with typical benefits for a temporary-to-hire position.

Qualifications

• 13 years of experience in distribution design/engineering within power delivery.
• Experience with grid hardening, make-ready, or related projects.
• Foundational knowledge of power distribution concepts.
• Ability to support electrical design activities for distribution systems.
• Willingness to grow and develop a long-term career in electric distribution engineering.
• For candidates with a bachelors degree in engineering, 0-1 years of relevant experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update electric power distribution designs for grid hardening and reliability.
• Support make-ready activities to accommodate new or modified loads/equipment.
• Prepare and refine distribution design drawings per standards and utility requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to support power delivery projects from concept to implementation.
• Use distribution engineering software tools to design, model, and analyze as applicable.
• Apply engineering principles for safe, reliable, and efficient distribution solutions.
• Maintain accurate project records and design files for tracking/regulatory needs.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow in electric distribution industry.
