Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is hiring a Distribution Designer based in West Virginia to oversee joint-use attachment designs. You will use engineering standards and regulatory requirements to deliver safe, reliable designs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

This onsite role reports to the HR team and may involve travel to various offices and sites. The ideal candidate has an engineering technology or construction background, strong communication, and the ability to navigate complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• EEI TECH test passing required.
• Ability to interpret procedures, drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong commitment to safety in all design activities.
• Design overhead and underground layouts for residential, commercial, and industrial requests using FirstEnergy standards.
• Support project progress through client contact, field work, and documentation.
• Assist with billing for line extensions and relocation work.
• Coordinate with internal teams and customers on permits and easements.
