Job summary

Santa Fe County NM seeks an experienced leader to oversee voter registration, elections staff, and information dissemination. This role reports to the Bureau of Elections under the Office of the County Clerk.

The position requires strong knowledge of election codes, staff supervision, and the ability to coordinate with procurement and other divisions. Notary duties may apply; evenings and peak cycles are common.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six years of experience in an office environment.
• Supervisory and elections experience preferred.
• Experience requirements may be substituted for relevant education at a rate of 30 credit hours equal to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with New Mexico Election Code in county elections.
• Supervise staff in voter registration, election admin and information.
• Disseminate election information to voters and public.
• Plan/analyze actions on election matters and coordinate with procurement.
• Respond to calls, mail and information requests promptly.
• Perform admin tasks for County Clerk's Office, Bureau of Elections, Recording, and Records and Research Divisions.
• Notary Public duties may be performed.
• Audit election certificates for discrepancies and review registration documents.
• Process voter registration cards and manage registration files.
• Enter positions, polling locations, times, and questions into voting database; manage precincts and districts.
• Assist with additional election-related tasks during peak season.
