Job summary

New Mexico Secretary of State seeks a Senior State Auditor - Elections to conduct compliance reviews of disclosure and campaign finance reports in the Secretary of State's office. The role audits filings by candidates, treasurers, office holders and lobbyists to ensure compliance with the Election Code.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, communicating with filers for voluntary compliance, assisting with vendor contracts and MOUs, and supporting canvass and customer service activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Two years of experience conducting financial audits of government agencies.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Audit electronically filed disclosure reports and campaign finance reports for compliance with the Election Code.
• Prepare and maintain reports, records, and correspondence related to audit activities.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with filers to assist voluntary compliance.
• Assist with procurement procedures for vendor contracts and MOUs.
• Analyze processes and support canvass and customer service activities.
