Job summary

The Temporary Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) Clerk in Phoenix is a part-time, seasonal position within the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office. You will support military and overseas voters with registration, ballot requests, and processing returned ballots, using a range of desktop applications.

The role requires strong communication and fast learning, with adaptability to evolving tasks across division needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of administrative duties in an Election office environment preferred.
• Must be registered or eligible to register to vote in Arizona by time of hire.
• Must pass background screening.
• Type at least 30 WPM.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams; and familiarity with Adobe and Paint.

Responsibilities

• Assist Military and Overseas voters to register to vote; request early ballots; process returned ballots.
• Provide excellent communication via telephone and email.
• Multitask and manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks.
• Use Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Paint daily; navigate specialized software.
