Job summary

Bergen County is seeking a Voting Machine Technician – Superintendent of Elections to maintain and repair voting machines under supervision, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the voting process.

The role includes setting up tests, diagnostics, ballot verification, and assisting with election preparations; evening and weekend hours around elections may apply; NJ driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties.
• Driver’s license valid in New Jersey required.
• Willing to learn to use various electronic/manual recording systems.

Responsibilities

• Tests, maintains, repairs and makes mechanical, electrical and electronic changes to voting machines.
• Operates several types of office machines.
• Performs set-ups for elections including diagnostics, pre-logic and accuracy tests, ballot verification and simulation voting tests.
• Assists in folding election ballots and inserting them into emergency ballot boxes for wards/districts.
