Job summary

Clark County Elections Department seeks qualified candidates for the Voting Machine Technician position. You will test voting machines using electronic testing equipment and follow standard testing procedures to identify potential issues requiring repair on a regular schedule to ensure proper voting equipment operation.

Candidates must be available for mandatory overtime at little to no notice during key phases of the election cycle, including weekends and holidays, and must meet the education

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of full-time experience in skilled mechanical/equipment maintenance.
• Two election periods with warehouse prep, programming and repair may substitute for the two years of experience.
• Background checks and driving license required; citizenship and work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Tests voting machines on a regular schedule using electronic testing equipment and standard procedures to identify repair needs.
• Reviews testing records and inspects machines for problems; perform maintenance, adjustments and repairs within capability; arrange warranty repair as needed.
• Before elections, inserts ballot faces and memory cartridges and runs final tests to ensure correct operation.
• Coordinates delivery and pickup of equipment to/from voting locations on election days; travels to locations as needed.
