Job summary

North Carolina State Board of Elections is seeking a User Support Specialist to provide on-site and remote support for staff, manage computer equipment, and maintain endpoint devices. The role requires strong knowledge of Windows environments, policy enforcement, and IT security.

Responsibilities include building images, deploying devices, onboarding staff, and administering SharePoint/Teams while supporting during elections and software releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field with two years of IT experience; or Associate degree with three years; or HS/GED with five years of IT experience.
• Experience supporting Windows desktop environments, devices, and printers.
• Strong knowledge of Windows policy enforcement and LGPO concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote user support for state staff via helpdesk.
• Build computer images, deploy and support endpoint devices.
• Assist and onboarding/offboarding for staff—accounts, email, devices.
• Manage SharePoint and Teams administration.
• Provide after-hours on-call support during elections and critical IT situations.
