Job summary

Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government is seeking a diligent Elections Equipment Technician to maintain, program, and deliver voting equipment. You will canvass precincts on Election Day and assist with troubleshooting, training, and voter assistance as needed.

You must be a registered voter with a valid Georgia driver’s license, and complete annual equipment maintenance training. This role supports the Board of Elections in ensuring accurate, accessible elections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years in elections and reporting environment.
• Must be a registered voter.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Must attend yearly training for elections equipment maintenance and use.
• Knowledge of election laws and confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and the public.
• Demonstrated good judgment, consistency and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of election laws and regulations.
• Conduct quarterly maintenance and inspection of voting equipment.
• Obtain repair authorization and ship malfunctioning equipment for service.
• Perform logic and accuracy testing and deliver equipment to precincts.
• Assist Poll Managers with opening/closing precincts as needed.
• Support Poll Worker training and ongoing technician training.
• Assist voters in the office during early voting.
• Identify new voting locations and assist with boundary considerations.
• Assist with ADA accessibility research for polling sites.
