Job summary

JASA is seeking an Elder Abuse Prevention Social Worker / Case Manager in Brooklyn to safeguard vulnerable older adults. You will assess needs, create safety plans, provide counseling, and coordinate with legal and community resources.

The role spans in-home, in-office, and community settings. The position requires an MSW or related Master’s degree, clinical experience, and the ability to travel across New York City.

Qualifications

• MSW or master’s-level degree required.
• Demonstrated counseling experience, individual and group.
• Ability to travel city-wide for home visits.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Cultural humility and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish/Haitian-Creole/Russian/Mandarin) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home, in-office, and community assessments.
• Develop tailored safety and service plans for seniors.
• Provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention.
• Assist clients to access Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and other benefits.
• Coordinate with protective services and community resources.
• Refer to JASA Legal Services for Elder Justice as needed.
• Facilitate group counseling and outreach activities.
