Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking caring Household Assistants to support elders with meals, laundry, and housekeeping in a home-like neighborhood setting. The role emphasizes dignity, choice, and person-centered care in a Ranch-style home for up to 12 residents.

Shifts include 8am-4:30pm with Full-Time & Part-Time options and every other weekend. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour, based on experience, with opportunities to contribute to a warm, family-like team environment.

Qualifications

• No certification required.
• Current high school student who has reached legal age to work.
• Preferred experience with elders, cooking for a family or group, or light housekeeping and laundry.

Responsibilities

• Plan appropriate meals according to dietary needs/preferences/medical issues.
• Seek input from elders with meal planning and preparation.
• Prep ingredients; prepare and serve meals and snacks.
• Set up table and ensure safety and freshness of food; record food temperature.
• Inventory and stock shelves with supplies.
• Clean rooms, floors, equipment, and kitchen to maintain a safe, neat environment.
• Ensure laundry is completed and returned; help elders with laundry storage.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding elders, co-workers and documentation.
• Answer phone and participate in team meetings to set house standards.
