Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife seeks caring Household Assistants to join our team. You will help with cooking, laundry and housekeeping in our Small House neighborhoods, supporting up to 12 elders with daily living in a home-like setting.

Join a team that values dignity, freedom of choice, and person-centered care. DailyPay is available, with full-time and part-time positions and starting pay from $15.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED; legal age to work.
• No certification required.
• Experience with elders, cooking for families or groups, or light housekeeping/laundry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Consult with elders on meal planning and preparation.
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks; set up tables.
• Ensure food safety and record temperatures.
• Stock shelves and manage supplies.
• Clean rooms, floors, equipment, and kitchen.
• Handle laundry and organize closets/drawers.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and records.
• Answer phones and participate in team meetings.
• Record appliance temperatures and respond to inquiries.
