Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking caring Household Assistants to support elders in our Small House neighborhoods in Indiana. Role involves cooking, laundry, housekeeping and ensuring a respectful, home-like living environment. Opportunities include full-time or part-time shifts with starting pay from $15.00/hour, based on experience.

The position emphasizes dignity, confidentiality, and teamwork within a compassionate care community that values residents’ choices and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with elders preferred but not required.
• No prior work experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks.
• Clean rooms, floors, and kitchen to maintain a safe, neat environment.
• Assist with laundry and clothing organization for elders.
• Maintain confidentiality with residents and staff.
• Attend scheduled team meetings to uphold house standards.
• Record appliance temperatures in logs.
• Support elders’ daily activities and respond to inquiries.
