Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools seeks an Educational Associate to support 10-month ELD instruction and district ELD programs. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and delivering ELD services alongside the ELD Coordinator and Multilingual Learners team.

The position emphasizes professional development for staff, data-driven program improvement, and effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure high-quality ELD delivery in schools.

Qualifications

• Valid educator license in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
• Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or institution.
• Five years of ELD teaching or related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
• Ability to facilitate positive communication and coordination of program activities with teachers, administrators, and staff.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports.
• Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional and technical assistance to administrators, teachers and staff in areas related to the implementation of ELD instructional programs.
• Assists in planning and conducting academic or student support programs for Multilingual Learners.
• Assists in the implementation and support of new initiatives and standards for MLs.
• Assists in providing guidance and support to ELD and non-ELD staff.
• Assists in coordinating ELD instructional programs and projects.
• Plan and implement professional development presentations for ELD staff.
• Researches and analyzes data and prepares reports and recommendations.
• Assists in interpreting and communicating ELD program standards and guidelines.
• Assists in monitoring ELD programs and activities and ensures policy compliance.
