Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking an instructional leader to advance secondary English Language Arts instruction and intervention across core, supplemental, and intensive levels. You will work with teachers and leaders to align instruction with Maryland standards and implement data-driven planning and coaching.

The role focuses on literacy teaching, Community Schools at the middle school level, and ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or master’s equivalent required.
• Five years of teaching experience with progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Maryland Educator Advanced Professional Certificate or Administrator I endorsement eligibility.
• Reading Specialist Endorsement preferred.
• Strong data analysis and instructional planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes data to inform instructional planning and monitor effectiveness of literacy instruction at core, supplemental, and intensive levels.
• Collaborates with the Department of Special Education and the Office of Multilingual Achievement to support literacy interventions.
• Collaborates with school leaders to develop schedules that support Tier I instruction with opportunities for additional instructional support.
• Models, co-teaches, and facilitates professional learning and coaching on evidence-based instructional practices.
• Provides support to individual teachers and grade level teams to guide curriculum implementation.
• Plans and provides professional learning and coaching on Tier I instruction and literacy interventions; identifies prevention, intervention, and enrichment opportunities.
• Plans and provides coaching on data monitoring and responsive instructional decisions.
• Maintains collaboration with MSDE and other leaders to support system priorities.
• Provides parents and community stakeholders with information and strategies to enhance student learning.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
