Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist to join the Content Development team, focusing on developing K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States. You will work as both a content and assessment expert, leveraging AI to enhance item creation, review, and accessibility.

Responsibilities include developing test items, blueprints, and specifications, and collaborating with educators and psychometricians to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent required.
• 5 years’ elementary/secondary teaching experience preferred.
• Professional knowledge of education content and trends.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Familiar with all phases of development, processing, scoring and reporting of large-scale assessments.
• Excellence in AI-supported content development or strong potential to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.
• Proficient with basic software tools and technologies; comfortable with new programs.
• Interest in learning and adapting to new AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item/specifications, test blueprints, and related documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content development and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Select, assign, and train item/passage writers to develop items based on standards and cognitive complexity.
• Support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of test forms.
• Interface with customers as needed including planning and status meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to educational content.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
