Job summary

BASIS is seeking an EL Program Specialist (English Language) to lead and oversee language development programs across the organization from the Central Office in Scottsdale. The role ensures AZELLA and Title III compliance while promoting high-quality language instruction for multilingual learners and travels to AZ campuses for coaching and oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Bilingual Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership or related field.
• Must possess or be eligible for Arizona teaching certificate and AZ SEI Endorsement.
• Minimum five years of successful teaching experience, including English Learners; minimum two years of instructional leadership or administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization’s English Language Development program.
• Ensure implementation of AZELLA procedures and state EL requirements.
• Lead development of policies for EL identification, placement, services, monitoring, and exit.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding English Learners; oversee SEI models and language services.
• Provide coaching and professional development to administrators, EL Coordinators, and teachers; analyze EL achievement data to improve outcomes.
