Job summary

Bridges Public Charter School in Washington, DC seeks a Director of EL/ESOL Services to lead program improvement, coach teachers, and supervise staff. The role focuses on coaching and program leadership with a 12-month commitment aligned to experience.

The candidate will oversee language proficiency assessments, compliance, and data-driven planning to support English learners across PK–5, reporting to the Principal and aligning with school-wide goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field is required.
• At least five years of relevant education experience, including direct EL instruction and at least three years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.
• ESL/ELL certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of EL regulations and current EL instruction research.
• Citizenship, residency, or a work visa in the United States is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide schoolwide leadership for PK–5 EL/ESOL instruction, curriculum, and professional development.
• Lead program improvement and collaborate with the Principal on staffing, scheduling, and resources.
• Oversee data collection, language proficiency assessments, and reporting.
• Oversee compliance systems, documentation, and reporting related to English learners.
• Coach teachers and supervise EL staff, maintaining professional growth and feedback.
• Report program outcomes to the Principal and coordinate HIT program management.
