Job summary

Summa Health Akron City Campus is seeking an EKG Technician I for night shifts (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), part-time, 24 hours weekly. You will perform and document 12-lead EKG tests and respond to emergency teams requesting EKGs, ensuring patient safety and accurate records.

Qualifications include prior EKG experience or training, BLS within 6 months, and strong communication with patients and staff. Equal Opportunity Employer. Competitive benefits offered.

Part-Time / 24 Hours / Nights - 3 8-hour shifts (11p‑7:30a)

Summary

Performs and documents 12 lead EKG tests with and without rhythm strips and performs signal averaged EKGs. Responds to “TEAMS,” “SURGICAL TEAMS,” and other emergency calls to perform EKGs as requested.

Formal Education Required

1. a. Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions, and demonstrate basic computer knowledge.

Experience & Training Required

1. a. Prior EKG experience or training
2. b. BLS required within 6 months of hiring

1. a. Ability to effectively communicate verbally with patients, nurses and other hospital personnel.
2. b. Ability work and stand; lift light materials; assist in movement of patients.
3. c. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment

5. e. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
6. f. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the course of work

8. h. Ability to conduct EKGs during Trauma Teams, Stroke Teams, Code STEMIs, hospital procedures-STAT orders.
9. i. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

Level of Physical Demands

1. a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
2. b. Fast pace is expected.

$19.23/hr - $23.08/hr
