Job summary

Summa Health - Akron City Campus is seeking an EEG Technologist II for the EMU. This role is full-time (36 hours) with night shifts, offering a hire-on incentive of $5,000.

The EEG Tech II performs EEGs/EPs in the lab and bedside, and conducts video/EEG monitoring with a focus on patient comfort and clinical accuracy. Required: END program or related degree, two years EEG experience, CPR/BLS, and ABRET registry is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of END program or related degree or ABRET registry credential.
• Two years EEG tech experience; ABRET registry preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification; video LTM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs EEGs and EPs in lab and at patient bedside.
• Performs video/EEG monitoring.

Summary

Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs) and/or Evoked Potentials (EPs) studies in the Laboratory and at the bedside of patients. Performs video/EEG monitoring.

Formal Education Required

• Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program OR Associate’s Degree in Allied Health or Natural Sciences OR training in a 2 year Neurodiagnostic educational program Or be ABRET registry with related credential (R.EEG T. CNIM,CLTM, R.EP T., etc)

Experience & Training Required

• Two (2) years experience as EEG Technologist working in Neurodiagnostics.
• ABRET registry with R.EEG T. credentials, preferred
• CPR/BLS certification
• Video Long Term Monitoring (LTM) experience is preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, health care personnel, patients, families, and visitors.
• Ability to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients.
• Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management as directed.
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Level of Physical Demands

• Extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts, and wheelchairs.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
