Job summary

Summa Health is seeking an EEG Tech II for the EMU at Akron City Campus. The role involves performing EEGs, EPs, and video/EEG monitoring in both laboratory and bedside settings. Full-time position with 36 hours per week and day shifts.

A hire-on incentive of $5,000 is offered, with competitive benefits. Applicants should have an END program or related education, or ABRET credentials, plus 2 years of EEG Technologist experience and CPR/BLS.

Summary

Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs) and/or Evoked Potentials (EPs) studies in the Laboratory and at the bedside of patients. Performs video/EEG monitoring.

Formal Education Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program OR Associate’s Degree in Allied Health or Natural Sciences OR training in a 2 year Neurodiagnostic educational program Or be ABRET registry with related credential (R.EEG T. CNIM,CLTM, R.EP T., etc)
Experience & Training Required
  • Two (2) years experience as EEG Technologist working in Neurodiagnostics.
  • ABRET registry with R.EEG T. credentials, preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Video Long Term Monitoring (LTM) experience is preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies And Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, health care personnel, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Ability to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients.
  • Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management as directed.
  • Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
  • Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Level Of Physical Demands
  • Extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts, and wheelchairs.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
