Job summary

Pape-Dawson Houston is seeking an EIT-credentialed Civil Engineer to support Municipal Utility Districts and district services. The role emphasizes planning, design, and coordination across teams, with guidance from a P.E. and opportunities to mentor junior staff.

The candidate will work on capital improvement, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure projects, collaborating with clients and agencies to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans and technical documents for district or public infrastructure projects, including plan development and supporting details.
• Perform design calculations and develop supporting technical documentation consistent with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages.
• Coordinate technical aspects of projects with internal teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Support meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Assist with permitting documentation and service area-specific quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
