Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Houston, TX is seeking an EIT II to support the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of site development projects under the guidance of a licensed PE. This role builds growing technical experience through moderately complex assignments with project teams and clients.

The successful candidate will assist in designing civil site plans, performing earthwork and stormwater analyses, and preparing reports for zoning and permitting.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT/EI certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and codes/standards.
• Proficiency with common engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and preparation of civil site development plans for commercial and mixed-use projects, including grading, drainage, paving, and utility systems.
• Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater management analyses.
• Assist with preparation of reports, exhibits, and technical documentation for zoning, entitlement, and permitting approvals.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to support permitting and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Assist in the planning, analysis, and design of engineering projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and design deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Utilize engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office applications to support assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively through written documents, drawings, and verbal coordination.
• Manage assigned tasks to meet established schedules and quality expectations.
• Participate in internal meetings and coordination efforts related to assigned projects.
• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
