Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking an EIT II to support the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of civil site development projects in Houston. You will work under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer on moderate complex assignments with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes growing technical skills, collaboration, and adherence to codes and standards while contributing to reports, calculations, and deliverables for zoning, entitlement, and permitting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification preferred.
• 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and applicable codes and standards.
• Proficiency with common engineering software, drafting/design tools, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and preparation of civil site development plans for commercial and mixed-use projects, including grading, drainage, paving, and utility systems.
• Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater management analyses.
• Assist with preparation of reports, exhibits, and technical documentation for zoning, entitlement, and permitting approvals.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to support permitting and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Assist in the planning, analysis, and design of engineering projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and design deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Utilize engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office applications to support assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively through written documents, drawings, and verbal coordination.
• Manage assigned tasks to meet established schedules and quality expectations.
• Participate in internal meetings and coordination efforts related to assigned projects.
• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
