Job summary

Ormat Technologies is seeking an EI&C Technician at various levels to support power plant electrical, instrumentation and control systems on site in Austin, TX. The role requires reading schematics, performing maintenance, and collaborating with operations teams to ensure reliability.

Responsibilities include programming for information systems, ladder logic, PLCs/RTUs, VFDs, and SCADA/HMI operation, plus safety compliance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.
• EI&C Technician 2: Five (5) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.
• EI&C Technician 3: Seven (7) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.
• Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, auxiliary equipment, power and control systems.
• Ability to read process control documentation such as process flow diagrams, control logic block diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s Safe Driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow Ormat’s environmental and operational rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA.
• Install, program, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment.
• Read, understand and effectively utilize technical information from electrical schematics, vendor information, procedures and codes.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment.
• Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural areas and other states to work on other projects.
