Job summary

Cogentrix Energy Power Management, LLC seeks an EI&C Technician I to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical controls and instrumentation at Altura Cogen in Channelview, TX.

You will perform preventative maintenance, assist with motor and switchgear troubleshooting, and participate in safety programs while documenting work in MAXIMO and learning power plant systems on the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, utility, or power generation environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety practices.
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and legal authority to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment under supervision.
• Assist with troubleshooting motors, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, and related equipment.
• Support inspections, testing and maintenance during planned outages.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Document maintenance activities in MAXIMO.
• Adhere to OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements.
